Jazzin' Up the Island in 2008

The October weather may be cooling off but Fernandina Beach, Florida, will be heating up to the sounds of the
2008 Les DeMerle Amelia Island Jazz Festival.

From October 5th through the 12th, 2008 the Amelia Island Jazz Festival, a not-for-profit 501c3 charitable organization, will once again light up the island with a week-long series of events celebrating the diverse all-American art form, jazz. Under the creative direction of renowned jazz drummer and bandleader, Les DeMerle, the festival will kick-off on Sunday 10/5 with a free jazz concert, continuing Monday 10/6 through Thursday 10/9 with a Sponsors’ Party and educational programs for youth in the schools, for families and for seniors. The festival will peak with weekend jazz concerts at the lovely St. Peter's Church Courtyard on Friday 10/10 and Saturday 10/11 then continue with a Sunday Jazz Brunch on 10/12. All concerts will feature world-class jazz artists in a wide variety of styles including Dixieland, Smooth Jazz, Bebop, Big Band, Blues, Latin and more at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Courtyard and several other charming venues on beautiful Amelia Island, Florida. Stay tuned and get ready!!
